It would be better to explain the criteria for ranking players since there could be huge variation depending on which demographic is doing the hating - fans, the media, team mates, opposing players, society in general, etc.
Personally I’d be interested in knowing who the players were who were most hated by their own teammates since these are the people who would know them as close co-workers and thus understand them the best. The media can distort or sensationalize incidents that make players look better or worse than they actually are as people, but teammates aren’t going to be swayed by that like fans are. I think ａ lot of the hate for some of these guys is totally overblown for that reason. Teammates are the only ones who truly know if a guy is an A hole deserving of the hate or not.
