What's confusing to me about the card is how much it is swimming in the holder. Is that a non-standard slab? The top 'stay' (whatever the technical term is for that sliver of plastic) is so much further up than any of my holders, so that accounts for the up and down swimming, but look at how much room there is on the sides, too. Here's a random ebay screen grab with a much snugger overall fit for comparison...

It may be a hair oversize so they had to use a bigger holder.

This is not my card, but this Maris looks weird as heck on the right side also. Maybe this card was miscut often?

THat's the shadow of the ridge that holds it in place. Notice the weird shape is gone on the reverse (where it would be on the left side.)
