All of the pre war card lots I was participating in sold for just the right amount. Nothing went crazy except for the Cicotte hand grip study photo by Conlon. Photo's seem to be the wildcard when it comes to prices. So i tread lightly because there seem to be some heavy hitters who compete for these.

I scored one of the Gypsy Queens, but I think I've never been a bridesmaid on so many lots. This one in particular blew my mind:

If anyone wants to buy any of my N154s at (the apparently discounted price of) $1,000 a piece, lmk

I won a lot of 60-61 Fleers for (resale). Nice to open an invoice and see $10 for shipping and no other BS.

I was impressed by the 14 CJ 4.5 Cobb (with a crease, no less) for 54K. Wow.

That card is exceptional. It's also featured on the 1914 Cracker Jack Cobb PSA Card Facts page as the cover photo.

All the CJ Cobb's sold for strong prices. I think set new records according to my VCP reference.

It's a very nice card but it has a crease. I would not, therefore, call it exceptional. The CJ Cobb is certainly flying you are right.

On the other hand an M116 Wagner in an 8 went for only 9K. A card (set) that gets no love.

Default Duke Talk of Diamond

I save 19th century trade cards that depict the game or are baseball themed. Probably paid too much for them but I got the N135 set. I have several others and this will get me a near complete set. Several duplicates which I would be open to selling.

Under bidder on the Red Stocking Sheet Music. Have several others but always liked that one. Too much in the end.

Only got one, among the cheapest lots of the whole bunch -- a 4 card T205 set of HOFers that I needed, so I am satisfied. Not close on anything else I was watching.

I picked up one of the blank back T207s, finally filling a hole in my collection from the one I sold 5 years ago.
