There were lots of newspapers back then... every major and mid-sized city had them. So you are inevitably going to see duplication, regardless of the subject matter.
Not sure anyone really knows how many of a given image exist, but these working photos were preserved pretty well (as compared to other antiquities that were often damaged or simply thrown away over time). I'll defer to others here as to how you determine Type 1. It has been discussed to death over and over. So if you do a search, you'll find many applicable threads right here. |
