I sold a couple of things on BST recently and in each case I accepted a slightly lower counteroffer. If I left the posted prices it wouldn't accurately reflect what the items sold for.

I am all for keeping the asking price, if the price is put on a public forum and in our hobby its very common to see what cards sell for, the new buyer still has the advantage of any potential buyer later on only knowing the asking price...which can be far far more than what the card went for, but still better than knowing zero..

there are some people on net54 that list their cards for months and months and months and everyone knows the card wont sell for anything close to what they are asking. but there are others that are closer etc

Plus its fun to see what people were asking for cards like rookie mantles etc as the years go by on net54..
