Mantle - any thoughts on what this is?

Picked this up because from someone from Net54 because I already have a photo of him fishing and thought a golfing photo would be a good companion piece. Seller thinks the signature itself is preprinted. Two questions: (1) does the signature resemble any Mantle you've seen? It's obviously not his typical cursive handwriting. (2) Any idea whether the message is in Mantle's hand? It looks like the same handwriting and style as the signature to me. Either way, I'm glad to have the piece and the price was right.

Doesn't look preprinted, but not like mickeys writing... almost like someone had the photo and then wrote on it themselves to give to friend....not as an intentional forgery, but as a "tongue in cheek"... here Bob I got you a signed pic from Mickey....

There is a smiley face in there, so I can only assume it's real. 😀 I'll have to take a look when it arrives and see if it is indeed preprinted.

As an aside, the seller was completely transparent with what it was and I'm happy to have it anyway.

From the scan it does not appear to be a pre-print. Hope the seller is sending you the original photo and not a copy. I have no idea about the seller but this does not appear, at all, to be a pre-print and I don't know why a seller would be thinking that.

Actually in the listing the seller did not not refer to it as pre-printed but rather referred to it as a "printed inscription," which it clearly is.

Whoops, I misread the listing and my messages with him. Oh well. Still glad I got it as I like the image itself.
