Can anyone confirm that this is Nap? I'm in Vermont for a wedding and an antique store down the street claims it is. The price is right, but I'm just not familiar enough with him to pull the trigger.

No way, your photo doesn't feature his famous butt chin.

I think it's Paul Waner.

This photo appears to be an even earlier time period than Lajoie, not positive though...1870-80's?

However, considering the expensive uniform/jacket he is likely a high level player and possibly even a major leaguer. Early 1900's.

Not a regular collared jersey - so maybe a bit later. Looks like a "cadet" collar which became popular around 1909.

As long as we're showing dark uniforms with big white buttons:

Is it just me or does it look like the player in the OP's photo ALSO have what looks to be a "B" on the left side of the uniform?

Typically with these threads (someone posts an old photo and asks if it's a famous player), the rule of thumb is, if you have to ask, then its most likely not that player.

+1 For me it is usually as easy as looking at the guy and thinking if that looks like him. Sort of common sense but a lot of folks want someone to be who they think it is and it isn't. (not saying the OP was doing that, just making a general observation)
