You could try comparing with yearbooks. I can easily see the sox getting lazy and using the same photo for the team issued cards and the yearbook.
I was in the Boston area when these were current, and I don't recall any info about them that I thought was reliable. There were color issues too, with one of them being either a team issue, or sometimes attributed to McDonalds. It's entirely possible they issued them constantly over several years, the left Yaz looks more early 80's, the right one more mid to late 70's, maybe earlier. Steve B
