You read too much into it...I will try to be more clear in the future.

"The winner will be the member who guesses the closest to the 2nd highest ending priced card of the 3 auctions ending below."

If I'm reading the instructions correctly, we had to guess 1)the price of the 2nd highest card, and 2) name the player/card with the highest bid? So wouldn't the correct answer be:
$34 (price of 2nd highest card)
Grove (player you are choosing to be the highest)?
