The 1962 green tint version of the Los Angeles team card has an anomaly that sets it apart from the 'regular' Topps version from that year, and it's the inclusion of the infamous inset photos
1962angelsgt132.jpg Basically, without exception, every single example of this card you'll ever see is blurred beyond belief. There is no indication on the front or back of the card that points to the identities of these two mysterious players, so I've always been curious as to who they were. So, I went around searching the 'net and look what I stumbled across. A 1961 L.A. Angels team photo that matches the one on the card (it's much, much more obvious if you compare it to this non-GT version of the card)... 1962angels132.jpg 1961AngelsTeam2.jpg Whoever printed the green tints took many liberties while cropping the players in and out of the inset photos, and the wildly shifted colors and lack of focus are a nightmare, but it's quite clearly the same photograph. And who are the players featured in the inset photos? Why, Art Fowler and Billy Moran, both of whom were Angels from 1961-64. I have no idea why the insets were eliminated in the regular Topps printing that year, but that's a question for another day. Mystery solved!!!

I would have had no idea. That is cool. Thank you for sharing this info. I even went to ebay to look at the regular and the green tint, just to see the difference. I wouldn't mind collecting them after I finish my '65 set. Kind of torn between '61 and '62.

Don't you just get tired of contrarians showing up all of the time??? Ugh.
I was messaged telling me I'm completely wrong and the two versions of this team card are obviously different photos taken at different times. Oh, really????????????? As I said, these are the exact same photos (meaning the picture of the team as a whole), just cropped ridiculously bad in the GT version, with some heads being basically chopped in half. Here's an animated gif to illustrate this fact to my snarky new 'friend' ![]() If nothing else, just look at the bottom row with Albie Pearson, Eddie Yost and Rocky Bridges, among others. Or, hey, check out how all of the belts, jersey letters and hand positions match up perfectly across the board. Yeah, they are OBVIOUSLY different pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
