Was just talking about this topic with a buddy/collector. We were saying the simple fact is that prices are rising, and some guys are just bitter and angry over it. Bitter and angry because they either...

A) Can't afford the card(s) they want.

B) Didn't pony up in the past, for whatever reason.

C) Sold their cards in the past, and can't move on/let it go.

This anger and bitterness colors lots of posts and theories. It is really nothing more than that.

Some human beings will complain when it is raining and when it is sunny. They are the unhappy ones.

The happy ones don't care if a baseball card goes up a few thousand dollars. Just build a collection you love looking at. The old K.I.S.S. principle.

None of the above for me. This is a great time to be a dealer. Never been a better time, actually.

I don't think I would have to charge you nearly that much Bob but just hang tight. I could certainly be wrong, won't be the first time, but I am pretty confident.

I was speaking about the Rose 8, which was a $4,500 card two months ago. Now selling for +/-$16K . I'll wage a dinner at National in Chicago this card is -10% next year.

If it's being manipulated, you win.

I hope you're not talking about me, because I bought the RCs I wanted in the space that's going insane well before this started so the only effect on me is a big (if temporary) spike in what they are worth. Maybe I have posted what I have posted because I know what I am talking about based on reliable information. Then again, you and your collecting buddy sound like you are really in the know so I must be wrong.

o, that's right because that wouldn't be the prudent thing to do, but then again you couldn't give away your koufax 7, right?
Simple. I am a collector, if I have a card I like I am keeping it until I decide for reasons other than money to sell, and besides I don't have any of the big ticket stuff in those high grades anyhow.
