My son pulled this card from some old packs I found in my dresser. It appears to be crimped from the pack. I also have a Mike mussina from the 2004 Cracker Jack. I can't find the Cracker Jack as of now.

Crimped cards are only more valuable if they're from Magic:The Gathering. The Error/variant collectors there probably would pay $2 for a common with factory crimping. Otherwise, it's just a penny card. MTG is known for their quality control and centering, so there aren't a ton of errors to go around.

Once upon a time, we just considered those damaged.

I have a 1989 Score Barry Sanders rookie card with a crimp like that. Not too sure of its exact location since so much time has passed, but I got one.

I have a couple. My worst I think is a 94-95 Pinnacle Jaromir Jagr.
I will keep them for my sets in place of regular cards. I typically do this to use a bad condition copy, or one with a printing or manufacturing error (like a pack crimp) instead of a good condition card. I will buy them if I find them in a cheap box, but I do not actively search for things like that. |

I don't usually go after them. If I find one in a 10 cent box I usually get it.
I do keep all the ones I get in packs, they go in the printing errors box behind the divider that says "trapped in wrapper" , just to keep them apart from cards damaged by other packaging mishaps. Those are much less common, but also far harder to tell from a damaged card. I also have a bit of interesting "card production debris" from one of the Classic football sets. A piece of the sheet that was cut from between cards. Just a strip of cardboard maybe 1/8 of an inch wide and 3.5 long with parts of the border of two different cards. Yes, I save some really odd stuff. Steve B |

I've gotten those too, even in recent (past 10 years) UD mostly is where I've seen them. I don't think I've kept those pieces but maybe.
