Welcome to the board! Don't be too pressured to go after T206 issues. There are lots and lots of great vintage choices...so, keep your mind and your eyes open...you will probably discover many a card you did not even know existed.
By the way, not having any children myself, makes me very envious of all those who share this great hobby with either their fathers and / or their sons. Cherish every bit! . .
