Discerning good from bad autographs is a learned skill. By putting in the time to study the subjects that interest you, you can become very skilled at telling good from bad. Unfortunately it is not simple to explain to someone how I know it's bad immediately. It comes from years of study.
Sure. It is possible for anyone to be fooled from time to time. No one is perfect. but the more you learn the harder it becomes for forgers to succeed. Chris has taken the time to learn Mantle in depth. He has studied so much that now he can identify where certain forgeries originate from based upon seeing their items over and over again. BTW, I agree with everyone so far. They are both bad.
