Re-acquired one of my all-time favorite cards. Cap or "pop" was first major leaguer to have 3,000 hits. The N162 set is visually stunning in all of its blazing color palettes!

That thing is beautiful. Rare and ornate back, great centering, colors, no creases or wrinkles, it has it all going for it. Congrats Michael.

Thank you very much, Leon!

I've owned a handful of CB's over the years, and many are plagued with poor centering, or non-bold ink, etc...so this one answers the bell for me. and Jim C (jcc6252) was a pleasure to deal with.

PS- I'll be posting a card in this thread in a day or two that YOU used to own.

Hours after winning the E94 red Wagner, I was able to win a gold Devlin which is the last color variation needed of Devlin (had the red, blue, green, olive, violet and the rare orange).
It's odd I can go almost a year without finding one of the E94s I still need in the right color and then BOOM, BOOM, two in less than 24 hours

Sweet '38. Big Head Goudeys seem under appreciated on this board, but I personally find them incredibly appealing. Especially with great centering and color like yours.

Having completed the T207 set I decided to add a subset of all the "tough scarce backs" with Cycle backs only. About 2/3 done.

When I started collecting vintage 20 years ago the very first card I bought was a Duffy Mayo, ungraded, excellent or better. Loved it. There was one problem. When I got home and looked in a catalog they said it was black toned and with black back and the one I had was...brown. At least the dealer admitted it was a reprint and took it back. Been wanting one since but had to be in great shape and very pricey at that. Now, a reasonable price, I just won this...if anything, it looks like a 5 and great centering. The MK they say is small pencil mark on black black and only visible at an angle....

Thanks Sam. A PSA 7 '38 Goudey Bobby Doerr rookie card is a bit of a toughie. I was glad to snag this one.
