I haven't confirmed it but due to his place of origin and our relatively odd spelling of the last name, I am fairly likely to be related to Johnny Marcum.

I've found indications that I'm distantly related to Albert Spalding, Morgan Bulkeley, Carlton Fisk, and all the Lords Stanley.

Might as well post again:
My great, great grandfather pitched for the Cleveland naps... With cy going and Addie joss.... Played with lajoie and in southern leagues with joe Jackson. Name: seabron "Jessie" Booles.. Played for Raleigh in the southern leagues, where most of his pro experience was. I've got his t-209 continea cigs card... I found this website and got into the pre-war hobby back in April because I was looking for info on my ggp... Ended up getting hooked on cards and the rest is history! It's been way too much fun! |

Not related to me, but a childhood friend of mine is the grandson of Weldon Wyckoff, a pitcher on a few of Connie Mack's Philadelphia A's teams in the mid 1910's. To my knowledge, the only card he appeared on was the 1913 T200 Fatima Team Card (sitting to Chief Bender's left). If anyone knows of any others, please let me know. I have picked up a few Fatimas for him and his dad (Weldon's son) in the past, which blew their collective minds.

Not related, but Napolean Lajoie was a frequent customer at my great grandfather's pharmacy; he lived right down the block.

I don't have any Baseball connections that I know of, however my mother remarried when I was young and my Step-Grandfather was John Norlander.
He was a pioneer of the NBA. John won the National Championship in 1942 with his Hamline College team. He then left to join the Navy and played there with a service team that included Red Auerbach, that was a friendship that lasted till death. After the Navy, he joined the BAA and renewed his partership with Auerback as he played for the Washington Capitols from 46 to 51, including the two seasons after 49-50 when they joined the NBA. The man had some amazing stories to tell.

Well, I think there was my great great Uncle, Tubby Spencer. The resemblance on his E95 card is unmistakable, maybe.

My wife is from Naples TX.....population about 990. Randy Moore, on this '33 Goudey, was born there and owned a large farm. It was handed down twice until his grandsons squandered it away. Randy Sr. married a socialite who was rich and then his son did the same thing, is my understanding. My wife says Randy Jr. was just a drunk.
![]() Todd (who my wife knows),Tres and Clint were his sons and weren't much better, from what I understand. Such is life in Naples..we go back there fairly often. It's a nice place with lots of piney woods. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1933-Big-Lea...8AAOSw0vBUhQsf .
