I heard somewhere that regarding the triple record, Mantle said something to the effect of: "Well ****, if I knew it was a such a big deal, I would have just stopped at third base."

thanks for your input..yeah that shows how silly that record is...home runs are bad i guess.....might as well get that triple .....

Yesterday the Brewers stole four bases in one inning off Jon Lester, who seems to be able to only throw to home plate and therefore ignores base runners after several errant throws to first.
But alas the record for thievery in one inning is eight bases. This record is roughly one hundred years old. I think the pitcher was named Lester. ![]() ![]()
