WANTED: Willie Mays to sign my 1960 NL Ball

JSA is looking into the matter to see where the ball may have been dropped on their end as far as disclosing the Banks clubhouse signature. It seems like the verdict is still out if its a clubhouse or not. I don't want to speak too soon but from the information that's been relayed to me so far, it appears there is paperwork with it labeled as a clubhouse. They might come back and say it is genuine or they might come back and say it is indeed a clubhouse. Hope to find out next week, stay tuned!

Yeah, there's a sadistic side to me too, that wants you to spend a grand to have Mays do his thing to it.....



But please let common sense prevail, and don't. Mays or no, Banks or no, you still have a fine autographed ball. Enjoy it for what it is, and don't stress over what it isn't. The Clemente alone makes it a very special ball, IMO.

Any info about the details of the upcoming signing would be greatly appreciated. I sent a PM to mdallen, but I am excited beyond belief about this. I am working on an autographed 1963 Fleer set and figured I would never get Mays. I can't pass up this opportunity.

Sounds like a reality show "When Autographs Go Bad"...I'd say it's too much of a risk...you'd probably be lucky to just get the ball back without Willy's sig...

I remember once at work I had a golf book by Sam Snead I was hoping to get him to sign...As I recall I showed it to his son Sam Snead Jr. and said I was hoping to get his dad to sign it...he goes...oh I can sign it just like my dad here let me have it...and he signed it big as day right across the cover...what could I do scold him...I just thanked him and acted like I was grateful..ugh!...pretty much ruined that book!
