Since when was Ohio a mecca for growing fine tobacco?

In the early 1800's there was some tobacco growing in the lower Ohio Valley in Kentucky and Tennessee but I think those efforts were abandoned well before the 1900's.

And a recent pick up from Sterling Auctions....Love the nuances in a lot of these old ephemera items. On this one, I didn't notice until I had it in hand but the Mayo's stamp ad is only stamped onto the small picture. I don't know why but I thought it would be part of the litho, but not a lone stamp done after the manufacture of the card.
It's approx. 3 1/2' by 4"
