Ted, thanks for sharing this. I was unaware of the blue background variety. Methinks this blue variety looks much, much more significant than the "so what" white letter version. Besides, us kid collectors were all feeling blue that this would be Mickey's last regular issue baseball card. That is, until we went to our first adult baseball card convention and discovered Topps had been busy printing Mick with some other of its sets (1969 Topps Super baseball). Anyways, thanks again. Whoa Nellie--so much more significant!
