Years ago I corresponded on a somewhat regular basis with Gerry Glasser, a noted collector and authority on baseball cards. Sadly Gerry died several years ago. One of the issues Gerry collected was bf3s. He had a huge collection of them. He even wrote an article on them in the old VCBC magazine. We traded a lot of information and check lists. I asked him about the oversized type seven bf3s found in the Standard Catalog. He maintained that they were not bf3s, but actually the bf4s as described in the American Card Catalog. He said that Lew Lipset had also come to the same conclusion. Below is a complete set of what I call BF4s in my collection, or type sevens in the Standard Catalog.
