It doesn't look like an "e" to me but a bad attempt at an exaggerated loop at the bottom of the descender on the 2nd vertical "H" stem that Jennings at times used when signing his name.
Sorry but that is what it looks like to me. To throw my 2 cents in on this I do not feel comfortable with this bat. Last edited by Klrdds; 10-16-2014 at 07:31 PM. Reason: Mistake in spelling
