No way on Earth is that Lake Placid (spent a lot of time there over the last forty years -- just got back from there again, in fact --
and nothing in New York State looks like those peaks). Could be the Rockies, maybe (Canadian or American) or perhaps the Alps. Might be a senior team competing for the US in some international tournament (none of the guys look much like any NY Rangers from that era, which does appear to be early '30s, and as has been pointed out, those aren't NY Ranger unis). Is that a scoreboard in the background at the extreme right indicating "USA ~ SCH..."?
