Great show so far (though I haven't been able to leave my table). As always, nice to be next to Kevin Keating and Hank Thomas, who are always enjoyable neighbors at the show. Got to meet Mrvster, and see D.J., Andrew and Eric again, which is always great.

While I was chatting with Andrew today, a boy about 14 years old was checking out some of the Cracker Jacks in my case, and we started talking to him. We asked him if he collected, and he said he did, so we naturally asked him what he'd bought at the show (expecting him to pull out some shiny card). Instead, he reached into his bag and pulled out a T206 McGraw! Impressive. What was even cooler was that as he was talking, Andrew reached into his bag, pulled out a T206, and gave it to the kid. The kid's eyes lit up - a free T206! How awesome. That's why I love this hobby.

A little while later, a dad and his son came by the booth. I like to talk to any kid who shows interest, and this little guy, maybe 10 years old, had bought a 1963 Topps Mantle, PSA 4. Really nice card, and he was thrilled. Then his dad pulled out a '48 Leaf DiMaggio, and said he'd treated himself even though he didn't intend to buy anything. He and his son were collecting together.

Great to see some kids buying vintage, and even better to see a dad collecting with his son. Great day.

Hey bcbgcbrcb - it was great chatting with you when you were digging through my dime boxes. Glad those rookies found a good home. It was nice to release those cards from my basement.

Hey, Luke:

I didn't realize that you were a Net 54 member when I met you at the show. Thanks again for the great deals and letting me add some new cards to my collection cost effectively.

Good luck today, the last day of the Philly Show, I hope your sales continue.

Phil

Phil:

Yes, I enjoy this site. My sales at the Philly show fund my quest to conquer the Monster. Not sure when I will do another show. This one was for fun and to meet some new people.

Take care

Luke

Default Great finds

for both of you!

It looks like a second color is also shifted differently between these two cards, (see Rossman's left shoulder on the right side of the card).
