Perhaps the two greatest regular season games ever.

1. July 24, 2004. NY at Boston. Jason Varitek/Arod brawl capped off by Bill Mueller's GW HR off of Mariano Rivera.

2. October 6, 2009 AL Tie-breaker game between Detroit and Minnesota.

Also game 1 of the 1987 World Series.

I was in Yankee stadium on September 10th, 2001 to see the Yankees vs. Red Sox, Clemens was pitching for his 20th win that night.

The game was badly rained out.......

And I think we ALL know what happened on September 11th, 2001

Clemens was also going for his AL record 17th consecutive win in that game.

And after all we've found out, I'm glad now that he didn't get it.

Default 1997 Bucs-Astros Combind Extra Inning No-No

First and only I believe combined extra inning no-no from Francisco Cordova & Ricardo Rincon, highlighted by a pinch hit 3 run homer in the 10th by Mark Smith to win it. It was the first non opening day sellout for the Buccos since John Candelaria pitched in 1975 in Three Rivers Stadium. It was my first Buccos game, and I've been going out for 17 yrs now. We had seats 13 rows behind the Astros dugout, and a night I'll never forget.

The most "historic" game I have attended was in Philadelphia, at Veterans Stadium. A young player had recently been called up from the minors. His name was Chase Utley.

He went deep for his first MLB hit...a home run. It happened to be a Grand Slam. At the beginning of his next at bat, the theme song from Superman played over the loudspeakers.

From that point on, I have watched his career with great interest. He turned out to be a pretty good ballplayer.

Best regards,

Eric

The NL Wild Card Game last year was the first time the Pirates were in the post season in 20 years. And its the loudest thing I've been involved in. Louder than any of the three conflicts or dozen concerts I've been to. Way awesome and for Pittsburgh it was historic. There was no one in line for concessions that game. People were sprinting to the restrooms.

Great thread!

Had Yanks season tickets for 5 seasons and was lucky enough to see a bunch of great moments.

2008-AS Game, and final game at Yankee Stadium

2009-First game at Yankee Stadium, Jeter passes Gehrig to become all time Yankees hits leader, WS game 6.

2011-Jeter 3000th hit, and Mariano's 602nd save.

Another great one was the 2008 HR Derby. Josh Hamilton lost in the final round, but put on an absolute show in the early rounds. It was the only time I saw a ball hit almost half way up the wall behind the right field bleachers at Old Yankee Stadium.

March 6, 1996, Detroit Red Wings at Hartford Whalers, Detroit's goalie Chris Osgood scored a goal by shooting the puck down the ice into the opposing net. That made him the first NHL goalie not named Ron Hextall to score that way, although I didn't realize it at the time. It's still only ever happened seven times.

Saw Bob Gibson get to 2999 Strike-outs, 1974. Hank Aaron got a pinch-hit single in that game.

Saw George Brett creep up to .399 in mid-September, 1980.

Saw Mark McGwire's homeruns #67-70, in 1998.

And saw the Cardinals/Braves playoff game in 2000, in which Rick Ankiel lost his mind!
