Is it yours? You want to know so you can sell it?

I have never sold an autograph in my life. I have been collecting since I was a kid. My dad worked for a major sporting goods company in the 70' and the 80's and pro athletes bought their golf clubs there at wholesale prices. It was always cool when dad came home and had an autograph for me and my brother. I still have them.
None of my friends or family collects and if they acquire an autograph many times they will just give it to me since they know I collect. I don't think the guy even looked in the box of stuff he recently gave me with the Jeter ball, how he got it is another long story. One of the other balls turned out to be a stamped ball. Most of my graphs have been TTM successes with the exception of a large collection I acquired (another long story). Thanks for your opinions, maybe I should have done a brief introduction of myself when I recently signed up. I plan to be active here and havemore to post! |

What business is that of yours, Shelly? Since when do you decide who 's worthy of help and who is not?

If he was a seller, I'm glad he was trying to do his due diligence to see if it was authentic.

Looks slowly drawn, lacks the fluidity of an authentic jeter. Pass

Agreed. Tight and drawn appearance.

Jay you are correct. He is only asking for a free opinion. Nothing more. What did you think of the ball?

Nick, pleasure to know you. I am just curious when a new person comes on here. Is it just for free info so if passes you can then send it on to have it authenticated. It just seems that this is happening often on this site. To quote Leon who runs this site.
I agree.. Kudo's to our members who consistently help and give of their time. The only way to stay ahead of the curve is to be vigilant. And I think it is important to always question everything. People coming on this and other forums, with very posts asking questions about what to look for, is this good or bad etc... always get the courtesy of being vetted, overtly or covertly. I guess I am just a suspicious person. __________________ Last edited by shelly; 07-14-2014 at 08:31 PM. |
