Chicago Cubs catcher Johnny Kling had a restaurant and bar called the Pennant Cafe from 1911-1918 in the basement of the Sexton Hotel (later called the Dixon Hotel) in Kansas City, Missouri. As seen in this 1911 era trade card for the cafe, baseball bats and ball motifs adorn the pillars and the tile floor, the fixtures resemble baseballs, and baseball stadium murals grace the walls. The reverse of the trade card advertises the Sexton Hotel. For more details about the image, find it in the Unusual Baseball Postcards gallery of http://www.sportingoregon.com.
