The original post got a little off subject, which is fine when it's Old Judge talk. Anyway, I completed another run of a Pittsburgh Alleghenys player. Moved up to six poses with this last one. Presenting the Jocko Fields collection, scanned in order according to "the book". The card are actually numbered 0211 to 0216, which is where they got the pose numbers for him.

Well done John!

When I had previously crunched the numbers for Pittsburgh OJs I arrived at 28 different players, 129 different poses. You can arrive at 130 different poses if you count N173 of Fred Carroll (69-4, only catalogued as N173). The list includes four HOFers (Beckley, Galvin, Hanlon, & White) and other notables such as Jim McCormick and Billy Sunday. An interesting team to collect with a nice mix of easy and tough players/poses.

How complete are you on different subjects and poses? What is your goal?

I have 27 of the players and approx 50 of the poses. No real goal, but I could eventually go for as many Pittsburgh poses as possible. I'd like to go for all the Fred Dunlap cards sometime. Only have two so far

John, Dunlap would be an interesting player with eleven poses. He was on the 1887 Detroit squad so I've collected him as well but not as seriously as the Detroit players with Detroit cards. I'm up to seven different poses and realize some of them are pretty tough. Good luck if you go after all of them.

Here is my Pittsburgh list. All the Pittsburgh cards are shaded. The blue shaded cells represent a new card to the OJ set while a gray shaded cell means a re-issue (sometimes a re-issue of a Pittsburgh card, other times a team change to Pittsburgh). Let me know if you have any additions.

I don't know of any not on the list, but I know that there is no 0256 right in the middle of Bill Bishop's run, so people should be on the lookout for that.
