This Cracker Jack ad ran throughout 1914, which places it during
the tension in Europe just before and at the beginning of WW I. As card collectors we all know this ad also ran during the first baseball card set issued by Cracker Jack. Note the reference to "each package will be found a novelty or toy to delight and amuse the little folks." Oh, what it would have been like to have been around during the year 1914! ErikV
