Tatis's feat was against the Dodgers. Bob, I can not remember what Ohio team the Cards were playing when Whiten did his thing, do you recall ?
I don't think I'd necessarily call Tatis a journeyman on a stopover, at least in regards to his stint with the Cards. I seem to recall him being a youngster, getting his first shot to start in Texas before the Cards traded for him....Dude definitely shined almost immediately in St Louis. Then they seemingly bailed after that first injury(luckily, because the rest of his career was nothing but injuries).

Either way, I have a hard time considering a 23-25 year old, middle of the order, power hitting, third-baseman, a journeyman on a stopover... I get how it could feel that way in hindsight though..
