Thorpe, etc.
Not PCL, but worth including as a companion to the one shown above is this iconic photo of Jim Thorpe in 1921 playing with the Toledo Mud Hens. It's the most recent addition to http://www.sportingoregon.com/ and is my favorite Thorpe image. The bat looks like a matchstick in his hand.
But to stick with the PCL theme, also shown is a 1914 photo of game action at Ewing Field, rare because baseball was played there for just one year. It shows the top of the sixth inning of the second game of a September 13 doubleheader between the Oakland Oaks and San Francisco Seals Last edited by bbpostcards; 12-19-2013 at 11:04 AM.
