When rough cuts extend into corners, as appears to be the case on the worst of the corners here, it's a tough call how to grade.

1951 BOWMAN Mantle
I haven't seen this card, but I've seen many 51B Mantle cards in my time.
The Mantle (#253) card was situated at the uppermost left corner of the 72-card Hi # sheet. And, when Zable Brothers (the firm that printed these cards) made their 1st cut of this 72-card sheet, a rough cut resulted along the top (horizontal) edge of the Mantle card. There are a good number of Mantle cards out there with this rough cut that have been graded higher than you would expect. TED Z
