I can't critique this from an artist perspective but it really comes down to personal taste as a buyer. I agree with previous posters on the folk art style to this painting.
For me, if it has some age to it and of course eye appeal then I'm willing to pay more for it. I also think it's great that there is an artist signature....I've seen several unsigned paintings which to me makes it way too anonymous, impersonal. This particular painting is very attractive imo. While I don't purchase painting from this time period, I think that $200+ would not be unreasonable at all. Again just personal opinion from a buyer's perspective. |
