On top of that, when asked, most Cubs "fans" say "heck, any Cubs fan would do the same thing," Sure, who wouldn't want to NOT catch an $8 ball instead of going to the World Series?

Bartman had nothing to do with the Cubs not going to the World Series, he was a scapegoat. If the ball was an extra 6" into the stands the outcome would have been the same and no one would have said the Cubs lost because of a foul ball.

They weren't going to the World Series.
