Sean,
The same experience with Si introduced me to Brace Photo and over the years I ordered hundreds and hundreds of PCs that I used for ttm. They were of varying quality based upon whether it was a Burke or Brace negative being used. Some even were poor quality photos of photos. I just pulled my file and reviewed all of my receipts; the orders started in Feb. of 1996 and continued until May of 2000. Here is the front page of my old pricelist:

I did pick up some really good, unique color poses from Brace over the years.

I just picked the photo below up...$29...good deal? And who's the other guy? Wearing a catcher's glove...Moe Berg? If yes, any idea when/where this would have been taken? Any other info any one can share would be greatly appreciated...as always. Matt

I don't think the catcher looks anything like Moe Berg. And he was gone from Cleveland in 1934 whereas Feller came up in '36. I believe the pencilled annotation is incorrect. My guess is that it is Luke Sewell but I reserve the right to be wrong. The seller originally listed the photo as Feller and Berg. I emailed him with my thoughts and to his credit he changed "Berg" to "?". Either way I'd have paid $29 in a heartbeat for that fine Burke photo (had I have remembered to bid). Ya done good.
