You would assume so but they still have to make a judgment call with some of the smaller examples. I remember once sending a group in to one of the grading companies and getting mostly Authentic grades, then breaking them out and sending them to the other TPG...and of course all but one came back with numerical grades. So there is clearly some subjectivity involved.

This is the card that I believe was cut from an ad. The board member I bought it from had a cool story to go along with it, may be he'll chime in.

Supporting my ad cut theory is the fact that there was a Brooklyn mini within the group of cards.

Looking at it closely again, I still believe the albumen is of a different quality.

Back to the OP, I doubt most of the Browns Champs are hand cut. I think the reason you see so many is because the same examples have been sitting on eBay with moon prices for quite some time.

The albumen photo should be the same. Are you sure it's real? I'm unable to tell from the scan, but there should be no difference between the issued card and the advertising banner.

I'm positive it's real. It could just be the way it's aged... It also could be a difference nobody has noticed. It's subtle if the difference is there. I wish I had more ad cut cards to compare it to.

Does the mount look thicker than a normal OJ?

No, it's partially skinned, or possibly rebacked. I'm going with partially skinned due to the uneven thickness and torn look of the back of the mount.

Maybe some of the OJ experts can chime in. Certainly looks hand cut.
