If anyone is going to seriously get into the game used bat end of the hobby John Taube is an invaluable resource. Yes, he sells many of his bats for a premium, but you get what you pay for. John's knowledge is 2nd to none and he is always very fair, very easy to deal with and very forthcoming with his knowledge. When I first decided to buy a game used bat in 97, I called John based on an ad he had in SCD and have been buying, selling and trading with him since. John is one of the good guys.
As far as Jeter bats go, you should be able to do much better than 5k for later career gamer. 2-3k should get you something nice. |
