Every night at supper, my son reads us the question that is posed on his GoGurt yogurt sleeve. Usually the question revolves around something like Sponge-Bob Square Pants or something else on TV. Tonight, the question involved baseball cards.
Here is the question: Which is more valuable? (a) a 5-inch tall pure platinum toy robot, or (b) the world's most valuable baseball card So what is the answer? I will reveal the answer provided by GoGurt tonight before I go to bed.

I am guessing the baseball card.
The robot would have about 100 oz of platinum give or take a few oz's. 100 x $1438.00 = $143,800.00 for the robot Not sure what the most expensive baseball card is now. I believe Gretzky paid $400,000.00 + for that Honus Wagner card. |

That's a silly question, how else would they know what it's worth?

OK.... Before this thread goes too far downhill....
According to the GoGurt yogurt sleeve, the answer is.... (a) the toy robot. According to them, the value of the toy robot is $1.62 million. The value of the world's most valuable baseball card... Only $41,468. I have no idea where they got the $41,468 number for the most valuable baseball card, but we all know that number is way low. With a quick google search, I found that one of the T206 Wagner cards sold for $2.8 million in 2007. I think I should write a letter to GoGurt and tell them about their mistake. Maybe we could get some free GoGurt's out of it. ![]()

Actually, when I first read this question, my first thought was, "not enough information to answer".
So the robot stands five inches tall. That's nice but how wide is it? 1/4 inch? 1/2 inch? 1 inch? 5 inches? The total size of the robot would have a direct bearing on the total weight of the thing. If it were 5 inches tall and 1/4 inches wide it wouldn't weigh as much as if it were 5 inches tall and 5 inches wide. David |

Hi Brad!
Thanks for the great thread. We have Go Gurt in the fridge constantly for the grandchildren. I'll admit it's good stuff as it's sometimes my snack with my late night meds! Have a great week, Bill |

I guess as long as you don't make your financial decisions based on a Gogurt yogart sleeve, you'll do well in life.
Maybe Bazooka Joe information is more reliable. |

That's too funny. I told my wife last night that from now on, I will second-guess the answer to every GoGurt trivia question.

I would think that the robot value is because, some collector wanted to be able to say he has the only solid platinum robot in the world, not so much the raw platinum cost. As for the card we all know they missed the mark with that one... Maybe gogurt can answer the age old question " Who came 1st the chicken or the egg?"

http://www.itsjustmoney.org/children According to the site, the toy (which actually exists) last listed for a price of $41,468. Seems to me they switched their numbers. |

In order to avoid all this confusion and misinformation, I am only going to buy my kids the Spongebob GoGurts from now on. They have absolutely no educational value whatsoever.
