To kill some time,I was looking through one of my favorite coffee table books: the 1990-edition,large bound book showing every Topps card ever made (51 through 90 T).
Just happened to glance at the 59 T set (which I owned at one time), card # 316, supposedly of Ralph Lumenti. The picture on the card, though it has Lumenti's repro-stamped name on it,is almost assuredly picturing Camilo Pascual. Lumenti's face (he also appears in the 58 and 61 T sets) is somewhat similar, but I am almost positive no doubt it is Pascual's photo. Checked latest large Krausse bible ,as well as latest Beckett's bible, and the entry for this card only mentions the rarity of the "no optioned" statement. Nothing about it being Pascual's picture./ This won't change our card industry any if it IS an error :-).....but I'd love for someone to check up on this just to be sure... And happy Memorial Day,everyone...and a special thanks to those who served and who serve today. Rob NYC |
