The description says it's 'hand trimmed.'
I agree the mount is odd and probably not original or period. Can't comment on the originality/age of the photographic print itself without seeing it in person, though I don't anything that says it couldn't be from 1885. Overall has the look and tone of a period albumen. While rough edges could be fixed during remounting, one thing to keep in mind is 1800s photographers sometimes handcut the prints so funky edges and off center prints are sometimes found on original/unaltered cabinets and CDVs.
