I picked up an ashtray today at an estate sale. It's a 9.5" bronze colored ceramic figural Joe Louis standing on an ashtray that says "Joe Louis Our Champion." On the back of the ashtray it's marked "1935 JLP."
Is anyone familiar with this piece? Is it actually from 1935? If this information doesn't ring a bell (get it?) with anyone I'll take some pictures and post them. edit: Just to add, this isn't the "Brown Bomber" ashtray you see around every now and then.
