It would scare me to death. Hire someone to do it. There are a lot of variables here...the biggest one being what kind of glue or tape was used. Problem 2...how do you make sure the compound used on the glue does not attack the ink on the autograph...I could be wrong, but this does not seem to be a matter for the inexperienced. I would look for a qualified conservator type person.
