I think it's awfully clear why we are all seeing an increase in non-payers. EBay has ended the ability for you to give negative feedback to a buyer. I mean, that basically spells it out right there. It gives you incentive to simply bid on stuff you really don't want that bad or stuff that you can't afford. There is no REPERCUSSION to not paying or paying ridiculously late.
EBay should realize how ridiculous it is that buyers are exonerated from having a big, huge, red negative mark in their feedback column. This is the real issue. Right now, I can go bid 100K on a vintage car, win it, and simply never have to pay and nothing is going to happen to my perfect feedback.
