This is a great article. I have been looking to contact you (familytoad) via PM for a while as a fellow collector in Washington state.
Although unrelated to the article, I have been working on a history of Kittitas County, Washington baseball for a few years. The unique thing about the teams in Kittitas County, especially Roslyn, is they were integrated well before the color barrier was broken (except the short-lived Western International League 1921-23). The first teams in Roslyn took the field in 1910, and continued until the late 30's. After reading this I'd love to send you a rough copy to spark your interest in rural Washington baseball, and the controversy surrounding integration. Thank you for the great story, Ty |
