Two series of baseball statues were distributed in 1955-56 using the same molds. The Dairy Queen figures were white and the Big League Stars figures were a bronze/copper color.
Can someone confirm for me that the BIG LEAGUE STARS baseball figures were actually molded in bronze/copper-colored plastic? I have a Duke Snider figure that is overpainted to the bronze/copper color (and done pretty well; the lettering remains very distinct). Was it a homemade job, or were such figures distributed elsewhere? |
