Hi-
I acquired the bat scanned below recently and I was wondering if anyone might be able to help answer several questions I have concerning it. The stamp reads "Major League Players Drink Moxie". This is stamped twice on the bat. I can also make out a faint "air seasoned" notation above the stamp. 1. Has anyone seen one of these before? 2. Based on the knob, I am guessing this bat was made in the Teens or Twenties. Is this correct? Can anyone be more accurate? 3. I would like to also know who made the bat as I doubt it was Moxie. Did one particular company use "air seasoned" on their bats from this era? What company? 4. What is the earliest Moxie advertisement with baseball content? I am familiar with Ted Williams items, but curious about earlier examples. 5. Any additional information concerning this bat or early Moxie and baseball advertisements would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Alan Elefson aelefson@hotmail.com |
