The auction was for a bunch of crap.
From what I can remember, the seller said he was selling a T206 Wagner, Goudey Lajoie, T207 Lewis, 1952 Mantle, A Rod rookie plus "a lot" of other cards including Topps, Fleer, Bowman and others. HE said only the A Rod rookie and a couple of other cards were graded. They made a big deal about the Wagner and gave a short history about it. They showed a picture of the back of a T206. It was a Sweet Caporal 150 series, if I remember correctly. They also showed the back of a Goudey Mickey Cochrane which had some paper missing. The seller said all the cards were NR Mint or better, that he had collected them from Arkansas and Colorado and had owned them for a long time. He started the auction off at $5,000,000 dollars but would be taking offers. David |
