Thought I'd share this feel-good story:
Today I made a post on the B/S/T looking to buy some 1971-72 Harlem Globetrotters cards I need to complete a set. A board member has had a post since the beginning of the month selling a group of three graded cards from the set for $18. After I made my post, this member e-mailed me with an offer to sell the group for $20 delivered. Because I'm not Ray Charles, I had previously seen the $18 price on the board, so I double-checked the post after receiving his offer and saw that it had been edited shortly after I made my WTB post, with the price now $2 more. I should add two things: 1. This is a person who I've had no problem giving discounts to in the past. In fact, he once remarked in an e-mail, "Thanks for being so easy to work with." 2. After I questioned him about the $20 price when he'd offered them for $18 on the B/S/T, he dropped the price to $15. So I guess, bottom line, he really is a great guy. Finally, if this board member will e-mail me his address, I'll be more than happy to put $2 in the mail, simply because it seems it would mean a lot to him. |
