According to Marc Okkonen's book on team uniforms, Brooklyn did not wear that logo/design on their arm until 1910, and the uniform depicted correpsonds to the 1913 squad. If he's right, this would not have been issued in 1909 as handwritten on the back. Also, the first 10 Sporting News premiums from 1909 had that white informational strip across the top, and after they started in July, each week is accounted for. I'm guessing it's a premium from some other source. |
