n172 grading question

I always find it interesting that people think the names of compaies were trimmed off because they didn't want their kids exposed to tobacco related products. For some reason I highly doubt this since this is pretty much a recent phenomanon. More likely, the collector just wanted the picture or trimmed it down to make it fit whatever they were dispalying or storing the card in.
